Rationing Related FAQ — The frequently asked questions related to Ration Cards

How to obtain a new Ration Card -
1. The Head of the family has to apply to the Rationing Office.
2.  Rationing Office will issue the Ration Card within 7 Days from the application.
3. There are three types of Ration Card.
Yellow Ration Card - For families Below Poverty Line
Saffton Ration Card - For families having annual income less than Rs. 1 Lakh.
White Ration Card - For families having annual income above Rs.  1 Lakh.

What foodgrains do we get in Rationing Shops -

Antyodaya Families - For the poorest families amongst BPL Families with Yellow Ration Card -
35 Kg of Wheat per family per month at 2 Rs. per Kg.
35 Kg of Rice per family per month at 3 Rs. per Kg.
500 Gms of Sugar per person per month at Rs. 13.50 / Kg

BPL Families -  
35 Kg of Wheat per family per month at 5 Rs. per Kg.
35 Kg of Rice per family per month at 6 Rs. per Kg.
500 Gms of Sugar per person per month at Rs. 13.50 / Kg

For Saffron Ration Card Holders -
35 Kg of Wheat per family per month at 7 Rs. per Kg.
35 Kg of Rice per family per month at 9.5 Rs. per Kg.

For White Ration Card Holders - These families are excluded from supply of PDS foodgrains.

How much Kerosene do we get in Rationing Shops -

1.5 to 2 Ltrs. per month per person maximum upto 15 Ltrs for Non LPG Connection holder in Rural Area.

2 Ltrs. per month per person maximum upto 15 Ltrs for Non LPG Connection holder in Urban Area.

3 Ltrs per month for family with one persons for Non LPG Connection holder in Muncipal Corporations & A Class Muncipalities.

8 Ltrs per month for family with two persons for Non LPG Connection holder in Muncipal Corporations & A Class Muncipalities.

10 Ltrs per month for family with three persons for Non LPG Connection holder in Muncipal Corporations & A Class Muncipalities.

3 Ltrs per month per person maximum upto 24 Ltrs for family with more than four persons for Non LPG Connection holder in Muncipal Corporations & A Class Muncipalities.

4 Ltrs per month for families with LPG Connection Single Cylinder in all Areas

LPG Connection holder with Two Cylinders are excluded from Supply of Kerosene.
